THE BENEFITS
Reduces redness, brown spots, and sun damage
Improves skin tone and texture
Stimulates collagen production
Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Can help diminish the visibility of broken capillaries
MOST SUITABLE FOR
Photofacial is excellent for those looking to address sun damage, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, broken capillaries, and signs of aging.
HOW DOES IT WORK
During a Photofacial treatment, an IPL device delivers a broad spectrum of light onto your skin’s surface. The heat from the light targets and destroys specific cells in your skin, encouraging the growth of new, healthy cells.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
A slight stinging sensation is common during treatment, and redness or darkening of brown spots may occur afterwards. Over the course of several days to a week, the darkened spots will flake off, revealing clearer, more even-toned skin.
CARE
Recommendations
PRE TREATMENT
Before your IPL treatment, kindly follow these guidelines:
Please arrive for your treatment with a clean, makeup-free face.
A week before your treatment, avoid skincare products that might irritate your skin. This includes products containing ingredients such as Tretinoin, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic Acids, Astringents, or Vitamin C.
Antibiotics like TETRACYCLINE or MINOCYCLINE can make your skin sensitive to light. As such, refrain from using them for 1-2 weeks before your treatment.
ACCUTANE can increase your skin's susceptibility to damage from laser treatment. If you're taking ACCUTANE, ensure to discontinue its use at least 6 months prior to your treatment.
One week before your treatment, avoid waxing or using depilatory creams on the area to be treated.
For optimal results, avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks before your treatment.
POST TREATMENT
After your IPL treatment:
To maintain the improved condition of your skin, avoid sun exposure and tanning beds on treated areas indefinitely, if possible. Use a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30.
For a week after your treatment, continue avoiding skincare products containing irritants like Tretinoin, Retinol, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic Acids, Astringents, or Vitamin C.
For at least a week post-treatment, refrain from waxing, tweezing, or using depilatory creams on treated areas.
Post-treatment, treated lentigines may darken, and mild crusting may form within a few days. This crusting should naturally flake off in 1 to 3 weeks. In case of significant crusting, a gentle antibiotic ointment such as Polysporin might be recommended.
It's normal to experience localized redness, which should clear within 24 to 48 hours.
Unless necessary, avoid applying makeup on the evening of the treatment. We recommend waiting until the next morning.
